Creating Magickal Portals

Witchcraft has a specific language based on a worldview that insists

We affect change

We are the Divine in human form

We are an integral part of nature.

Our everyday conversations include an underlying belief that our actions have an impact in a world that is alive, listening, and responding to us. We feel a psychic “hit” or receive a “downloaded” message in the calm, insistent voice of Spirit. We see an animal spirit such as a hawk or coyote and sit in the “space” to integrate its message, specific for us in this moment.

We co-create as the Divine and attract magickal portals and doors of opportunities through paying attention and responding to signs, omens, and messages from an alive world. The metaphysical and physical influences of planets, astrology, gods and goddesses, pepper our conversations.

As an evolving craft, the Witchcraft language has recently morphed with a swell of new witches who have given new phrases for ageless traditions. When I was a child, my nana explained the ubiquitous nature of portals, such as the exact time of 11:11, which indicates the appearance of a spiritual doorway to experience a change in perspective – sometimes called a paradigm shift. Now, every double number, such as 222 or 444, is called an angel number with its own meanings.

It doesn’t matter what you call magickal tools or lessons in what is known as the Nameless Arts. Our receptivity to receive miracles attracts the Magick. In spells and rituals, the words we chose for our Magick, need only be based on what feels most magickal for us. One of the most exciting aspects of The Craft of the Wise is that we are each our own best teacher with the freedom to choose what is most important to us and the responsibility to honor all paths. You are the Magick. Your choices and actions alter the trajectory your life, no matter how small they might be.

Fifty years ago, Edward Lorenz, an MIT meteorology professor, adjusted a weather module by one variable from 0.506127 to 0.506, and that tiny alteration drastically transformed the entire weather pattern within two months. Now known as the butterfly effect after Lorenz suggested that the flap of a butterfly’s wings might ultimately cause a tornado, this theory suggests we cannot predict the future because the smallest acts can have long term impact. Have you ever had a Tarot, oracle, or psychic reading when the medium said the future could change if you changed? You can alter an outcome when you make new choices. Even the lines on the palms of our hands change as we move through life, indicating the new directions our life takes with each action we make.

Follow the guidance and the lessons of the seasons. Seek the Magick in every day and it will find you. Listen to the conversation in nature and the cosmos, and portals will naturally open for you.
